marketed a unique filter
for polishing potable,
process and wastewater.
The Vortisand filter system
is an automatic backwashable
centrifugal sand filter,
which combines a vortex
effect and multi-layers
of sand media in the same
pressure vessel. Vortisand
achieves very fine filtration
(0.45, 2, 5, 10 microns)
at high rate while using
80 to 90% less water for
backwashing compared to
traditional sand filters.
It provides a filtration
that is 10 to 20 times
finer than traditional
sand filters. Continuous
filtering removes suspended
solids (silt, sand, waterborne
contaminants and other
organic matter). Vortisand¢ē
provides clean, clear
water when used in conjunction
with chemical treatment
programs that chemical
treatment alone cannot
guarantee. Greater benefits
result from very fine
particle removal.
Vortisand¢ē is the
best available technology
for side-stream filtration
of cooling water. Either
used on cooling towers
or on closed loops, Vortisand¢ē
removes the very fine
suspended solids, airborne
contaminants or others
from recirculation water
to prevent fouling on
heat exchangers, to improve
the cooling efficiency
and in many cases to reduce
the use of chemicals,
mainly biocides in the
water.
Vortisand¢ē is also
very effective as a pretreatment
for RO, DI systems. |
